Projectspace BMB, Amsterdam – April 12 to May 19, 2024

Since 2013, Het Tekenkabinet has been an independent platform for contemporary, autonomous drawing art.
Each year, large-scale exhibitions are held at various locations, with autonomous contemporary drawing as the central focus.

After 11 previous editions in venues ranging from a museum, an art salon, and a former garage to a park pavilion and a tobacco drying facility, TEKENKABINET XII will once again be presented in two parts at two beautiful locations in Amsterdam: Projectruimte BMB (Kerkstraat 129A) and Galerie Art Singel 100.

Through an Open Call, professional, autonomous artists were invited to apply for participation. From the submissions, 110 artists were carefully selected, ensuring a diverse and well-balanced exhibition.

All drawings are exhibited without frames, glass, or passe-partout and are available for purchase. The maximum format of the works is A3 (42 x 29.7 cm).

A softcover A5 catalog will accompany the exhibition, featuring works by all participating artists—a meeting point, snapshot, reference book, and collector’s item in one.
